In order to fulfill our mission of providing opportunities for our participants in the areas of life skills, job skills, creative interests, and social activities, Sparrow University was created.  The course categories of Sparrow University were carefully selected to meet the four-pronged mission statement.  Classes are offered that provide the learners with a chance to socialize with their peers, learn new skills, and create products that are sold to help fund future classes.  

Because safety is a top priority, our volunteers must submit to background checks.  We have adopted the policies of our community partner, St. Andrew's Methodist Church in OKC. These policies provide guidelines and direction for volunteers working with vulnerable adults. We maintain a volunteer/student ratio of 1:4.

Our instructors are experts in their respective fields who have a desire to volunteer their time to teach adults with intellectual disabilities.

We offer a variety of classes for adults with intellectual disabilities.  The classes are designed with individual abilities in mind.  We promote a safe atmosphere so all participants will feel comfortable.
